BP Pulse has joined ChargeHub's Passport Hub roaming platform, adding more than 850 charging points at over 95 locations to the North American network. The integration allows EV drivers to find, access and pay for charging at BP Pulse sites through the ChargeHub app, according to the announcement.
Access will also extend to users of other e-mobility service providers (eMSPs) and automakers connected to Passport Hub. ChargeHub describes Passport Hub as a roaming platform that links charging networks with mobility service providers and vehicle manufacturers, so drivers can use existing apps and services across multiple networks without registering separately with each charge point operator.
For BP Pulse, the agreement widens the reach of its North American charging infrastructure by making it available through more third-party platforms. ChargeHub gains another charging network for its roaming ecosystem.
The companies did not specify how many of the 850-plus points are rapid or ultra-rapid chargers, or whether all points will be available through every Passport Hub partner.
Sujay Sharma, BP Pulse's VP of EV Charging for the US, said the partnership expands access through trusted roaming partners and that charging networks working better together benefits the EV ecosystem. Simon Ouellette, CEO of ChargeHub, said BP Pulse's decision to connect through Passport Hub signals that the hub model has become the way roaming is done in North America, adding that eMSPs and automakers in the ecosystem can offer drivers access to BP Pulse charging through existing connections.
