  • The Bedfordshire packaging distributor takes its parent group's European brand name and launches a tool that estimates peak-season packing costs.
  • Rajapack UK has renamed itself RAJA UK to match the RAJA Group brand used across the 19 European countries it serves, while keeping its UK staff, range and next-day service. Alongside the change it has released a free Prepare for Peak tool that gives businesses an illustrative estimate of peak packing costs ahead of Black Friday on 27 November.

Packaging distributor Rajapack UK has changed its name to RAJA UK, bringing the Bedfordshire-based supplier in line with the brand its parent group uses elsewhere in Europe.

The company said it supplies more than 43,000 UK businesses and has traded in the UK since 1998. It belongs to the RAJA Group, founded in France in 1954 by Rachel Marcovici and Janine Rocher, whose first names gave the business its name.

Using the group name is intended to give customers one recognisable brand across the 19 European countries the group serves.

Same operation, new label

Tom Rodda, managing director of RAJA UK, said the name had changed but what customers rely on had not: the same people, the same product range and the same next-day service. He added that with peak trading only weeks away, the company had also tried to make planning easier with a free tool that puts a figure on the cost of the busiest weeks.

Prepare for Peak

The renaming comes alongside the free Prepare for Peak tool, which is designed to help businesses estimate what peak will cost their packing operation and what they could save, ahead of Black Friday on 27 November.

Users select their industry to see how far orders typically rise at peak, based on benchmarks that combine Office for National Statistics retail data with RAJA order data from 2023 to 2025. They then enter their own figures, such as parcels handled per day and the number of people packing.

RAJA UK said the tool produces an illustrative estimate rather than a quotation.
