Gillette’s history dates back to the nineteenth century. The company was founded in 1895 by King Camp Gillette. King Gillette was a traveling man and his face is constantly exposed to danger in the toilet of a fast-paced train. Gillette, while working for a manufacturer of bottle caps, had the idea to manufacture a product that was rarely used and had to be discarded. The razors back then were expensive and required constant sharpening, a razor blade to be dismissed after losing its edge would become a necessity at a time to be a very lucrative business.
The razors that provided protection during shaving had been made in the mid-nineteenth century, but still used a forged knife. The first real razor Kampfe brothers invented in 1888. This was characterized by razor blade to protect the excessive skin contact. However, only used a knife that had to be withdrawn and then sharpened. Gillette improved these designs and introduced new highly lucrative razor blade.
To sell your product, Gillette founded the American Safety Razor Company on September 28, 1901, which became Gillette Safety Razor Company in July 1902. These ancient razors use one blade.
The team now consists of Gillette famous athletes like Roger Federer, Rafa Marquez and Thierry Henry.
