Portland Trail Blazers Logo – Portland Trail Blazers are a team of basketball of the NBA based in Portland, Oregon. Play in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference. Before going to the Rose Garden in 1995, the Blazers fought their home games at Memorial Coliseum. The team entered the NBA in 1970 and is the only professional sports franchise in Oregon of a sports league. The Blazers also enjoyed strong support from the public, from 1977 to 1995, the team filled their stadium for 815 consecutive home games, with the longest streak in American professional sports history.
The Blazers have reached the NBA Finals three times, winning his only championship in 1977 and finishing runners-up in 1990 and 1992. In addition, the team has qualified for playoffs in 25 of the 36 seasons in the NBA are from its existence, including a streak of 21 consecutive appearances from 1983 until 2003. Five players who belong to the Basketball Hall of Fame have worn the shirt of the Blazers (Lenny Wilkens, Bill Walton, Clyde Drexler, Drazen Petrovic and Scottie Pippen) and four have been recognized by the NBA as one of the top 50 players in league history (Scottie Pippen, Lenny Wilkens, Bill Walton and Clyde Drexler).
Walton is the most successful player in the history of the Blazers, winning the Finals MVP in 1977 and the MVP of the season the following year. Geoff Petrie, Sidney Wicks, and Brandon Roy have received the Rookie of the Year with team, Mike Schuler and Mike Dunleavy on the NBA Coach of the Year, and Lenny Wilkens and Jack Ramsay have been included in the Hall of Fame as coaches.
