Fisker Logo — Fisker Automotive is an American automobile manufacturer based in Anaheim, California. The company’s first product, the Fisker Karma is one of the few electric hybrid vehicles worldwide. It premiered in 2008 at the Detroit Motor Show, creating the first green car segment. An estimated 15,000 vehicles will be assembled by Valmet Automotive year in Uusikaupunki, Finland. Valmet currently builds the Porsche Cayman and Porsche Boxster sports cars Porsche.

Fisker originally intended to sell the Karma in late 2009, but due to delays in funding the aim is to deliver orders to customers in late 2011. Fisker announced that the concept of Karma S hardtop convertible unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show 2009 will be available by 2012 at an unknown price. Fisker has said it plans to have about 200 dealers in Europe and North America in late 2011.
Henrik Fisker co-founded the company in 2007 with his partner Bernhard Koehler and Quantum Technologies after securing a relatively small investment of Gianfranco Pizzuto, an Italian businessman, and investors in Palo Alto. Henrik Fisker is responsible for designing some of the world’s most iconic cars like the Aston Martin DB9 and V8 Vantage, Artega GT and BMW Z8. He also served as design director and sat on the board of Aston Martin. Before Fisker Automotive, Henrik Fisker and Koehler left Aston Martin in 2005 to establish Fisker Coachbuild, in an attempt to revive the art of cars to customer specifications.
