Embraer Logo — Embraer is a Brazilian aircraft factory. The company produces commercial aircraft , military andexecutives . It was the largest exporter of the country between 1999 and 2001 , always occupying one of the top three in Brazil . Among the aviation factories in third place in the number of people within their workforce (behind Boeing and Airbus ) and is the third largest number of annual deliveries of aircraft (behind Boeing and Airbus).
The company is headquartered in São José dos Campos , São Paulo , with its main plant and the design and engineering center. Embraer has another plant in Gavião Peixoto , also in the state of São Paulo, where they make the most important components and controlled flight tests. Note that this facility has a runway 5,000 meters long, which makes it the third longest runway in the world. Embraer has maintenance and sales offices in the United States and sales offices in France , Singapore and China .
By September 30 of 2005 , Embraer had a workforce of 17,046 employees (including employees of the Portuguese company OGMA) and an order backlog of U.S. $ 10,400 million.
On May 31 of 2005 the company announced plans to introduce two new models of aircraft, the Phenom 100 and 300 in the executive aviation market. These new models seek to complement the existing offer with the Legacy 600 in the segments of light aircraft and very light. Also, the May 2nd of 2006 the company announced the upcoming sale of an executive version of its E-190 reactor, called Lineage 1000, whose first deliveries were scheduled for mid 2008.
