Escada Logo — Escada is an international company of luxury women’s fashion. The company operates in 60 countries. Its main sales markets are North America, Eastern Europe and the West and Asia. The company filed for bankruptcy in August 2009 and was adquierda by Megha Mittal in November 2009.
Escada was founded by Margaretha and Wolfgang Act in 1978 in Munich. The company was noted for its Novelty protruding creations in colors and patterns, and elaborate designs. The company expanded steadily. In the proces of expansion the company was open to the public capital in 1986. In 1994 the company launched the Escada Sport label, with accessories like bags and shoes themselves, working with companies like Procter & Gamble to which assigned the trade mark for marketing.
In 2007 the artist Stefan Szczesny created a new collection of Escada in Saint-Tropez. Since July 2008, Dr. Bruno Sälzer controls the company. On August 11th of 2009, Escada declares bankruptcy, when an exchange offer pay bonuses worth 200 million euros was not accepted by 80% of debtors. The company was then acquired in November 2009 by the multi-family sector-led Mittal Steel Lakshmi Mittal.
