Ford Logo — The Ford Motor Company, called simply Ford, is a multinational U.S. manufacturer of cars based on Dearborn, Michigan, United States. Founded in June 16th of 1903 by Henry Ford in Detroit, Michigan. According to the magazine Fortune, DaimlerChrysler and Toyota Motor overtook Ford making it the second and third group of global automakers with more income in 2004 respectively. For many years Ford was global number two behind General Motors. Ford remains one of the 500 largest corporations by revenue.

The Ford Motor Company also owns the brands Mercury (until closing) and Lincoln. Ford currently has assembly plants in many countries, and make cars for different countries based on local tastes. Currently offers two models hybrid, the Ford Fusion (USA) and the Ford Escape.

Ford was founded in 1903 with $ 28,000 contributed by twelve investors, among which included the partner who gave name to the company, Henry Ford, who by then had 40 years of age. In 1908, the Company Ford launched the Model T Ford, whose first unit was manufactured in the Piquette Manufacturing Plant. The company soon had to move their production facilities to Plant Highland Park, larger than the last, to meet the demand of the new Model T. By 1913, the company had developed all the basic techniques of line and mass production. Ford created the first moving production line in the world that year, which reduced chassis assembly time from 12 hours to 100 minutes. The first model designed and built for Europe was the Ford and 8 HP.
