The name is a play on words referring to Lincoln Park in Santa Monica.

The group is known for its distinctive musical style that blends rock, rap and electronic sounds, but since its inception it was considered like a metal, until it was their second album Meteora, then opting for this genre and the rap metal, yet his third album Minutes to Midnight decided to explore other genres, becoming a more ‘soft’ oriented alternative rock.
