Founded as a regular store hardware in 1946, after rapid growth and acquire and rename the chain Eagle Hardware, Lowe’s developed quickly into the second chain of retail home improvement and hardware store in the U.S. after Home Depot and seventh general market retailers. Lowe’s has adopted a strategy similar to Home Depot (market leader) to which Target has adopted against Wal-Mart , using a more gentle and friendly (appealing to female).
Also since 1999 Lowe’s has sponsored a number of drivers regularly (including a champion) of NASCAR , and bought the naming rights to the racetrack Lowe’s Motor Speedway (formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway) in Concorde, North Carolina. It has also sponsored the team Fernandez Racing , founded by Mexican driver Adrian Fernandez .
