Movistar Logo — Telefonica Moviles Spain, SAU is a company Spanish mobile phone that operates under the brand name Movistar and belongs to Telefónica. Within the Telefónica group, is assigned as a subsidiary of Telefónica of Spain. Although they are separate companies, since May 2010, Telefónica of Spain and Telefonica Moviles Spain operate under the same brand Movistar, and offer product packages together but remain legally independent companies.
Movistar was directly subsidiary of Telefonica Moviles SA, until in 2006 and reorganized under a policy of global business, Telefonica Moviles is absorbed by its parent company Telefonica SA and its international operations are absorbed by the new organization of Grupo Telefónica around areas geography.
