MSN Logo – MSN (short for The M ICRO S oft N etwork) is a collection of Internet services offered by Microsoft . Initially released on August 24th of 1995 , to coincide with the launch of Windows 95 . The services provided have changed significantly since its launch. The email service was the first to be offered (until May 7 of 2007 was replaced by Windows Live Hotmail ), followed by service instant messaging MSN Messenger , which in turn was replaced by Windows Live Messenger .

Microsoft used the MSN brand name to promote many services web-based popular since the late nineties, including Hotmail and Messenger, before reorganizing many of them in 2005 and 2006 under the name Windows Live . The MSN Internet portal, msn.com, still offers a lot of content and is currently the sixth most visited domain on the Internet.
