RC Cola Logo — RC Cola (including Royal Crown Cola ) is a cola brand , in 1905 in Columbus in the U.S. state of Georgia has been developed by the pharmacist Claude A. Hatcher. It belongs to the Dr Pepper Snapple Group , which was spun off from Cadbury Schweppes in 2008. Hatcher developed for the grocery store his family a number of drinks, which he named Royal Crown sales. His first cola brand, he called Chero-Cola . He also sold under other Royal Crown Ginger Ale and Royal Crown Root Beer .

Due to the strong sales his company, founded Hatcher Chero-Cola Co. , which he renamed sixteen years later, after a well-developed set of fruit drinks from him, in Nehi Corporation. Hatcher died in 1933, whereupon his then deputy HR Mott took over the company. This would improve the Chero-Cola, so he asked the chemist Rufas comb to give a new taste of Coke. After six months of development, this new cola was published under the name of the original beverage line Hatcher, Royal Crown. 1940 Products of the company were already in 47 states (of the time 48) of the United States to buy.
