Petronas Logo — Petronas is the short name for Petroliam Nasional Berhad which is the oil and gas company of Malaysia , owned by the state, founded on August 17th of 1974 . Petronas owns 103 subsidiaries and partly owns another 19, also is associated with 55 companies. Together, these companies make the Petronas Group is involved in several activities based on oil and gas. The towers are the fifth place among the world’s tallest towers.
Petronas built the Petronas Twin Towers , which opened in 1998 and were for a time the world’s tallest buildings. There is the headquarters of the company. Petronas is one of the main advertisers of the new team of Formula 1 Mercedes Benz in the 2010 season the same. It also owns 40% of Sauber Petronas Engineering , the company that built the computer chassis that use engines made by Ferrari . Petronas is also the principal owner of the Malaysian Grand Prix and is among the largest advertisers in the Grand Prix of China .
Among the most interesting features of the towers found its inspiration in traditional constructions of Malaysia and the suspension bridge that allows communication between the two structures. The construction of this work was economic and political reasons for it allowed Malaysia and its capital to take greater prestige in the world. Its design was led by Argentine architect Cesar Pelli .
