Quiznos Logo — Quiznos is a chain of restaurants from fast food specializing in sandwiches toasted submarine style . With 4,000 restaurants in the United States , is the second such franchises with more stores in the country, second only to Subway .

The group started from a small business. In 1978 , a businessman named Terrell Braly took over a building in Denver where it settled an old gas station, which became a restaurant sandwiches called Sandwich World . The store manager, Hussain Jaffarie, preparing submarine sandwiches andsnacks tostándolos in an oven for pizzas .

The business was bought only a year later by Jimmy and Todd Lambatos Disner, two owners of a restaurant located near the local Braly. The new owners changed the local name for that of Quiznos , and started in 1981 a franchise business based on brand and style of preparation of toasted sandwiches. The chain grew rapidly in the early 2000s thanks to aggressive advertising campaigns, and some larger competitors like Subway did from 2004 to its customers the chance to toast sandwiches as Quiznos.

In 2005 Quiznos had more than 5,000 franchises throughout the United States and 300 in Canada , and had initiated a plan to expand overseas.However, the chain growth was too fast and many of the franchises installed closed by low profitability and debt. From 2007 to 2009 were closed more than 1,000 Quiznos stores in the U.S. alone, so the group has had to modify their business model.

Currently, Quiznos has franchises in 20 countries. Among the states speaking , the company is present in Costa Rica , Ecuador , El Salvador ,Guatemala , Honduras , Mexico , Nicaragua , Panama , Puerto Rico , Dominican Republic , Venezuela , and by the end of 2012 will also be installed in a new shopping center in Paraguay .
