Saleen Logo — Saleen Inc., commonly known as Saleen (pronounced: Salim), is a manufacturer of automobiles U.S., specializing in sports and auto parts high performance. Located in Troy, a suburb of Detroit. Previously it was located in Irvine, California.
Saleen is a company dedicated to the production of limited edition sports cars and high performance. Saleen is a original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and the last small automaker United States of this type. Unlike companies that sell spare parts oriented “tuneo” car, Saleen is subject to the same federal regulations governing the design and testing of products for the automotive industry, as manufacturers of larger vehicles such as Ford, General Motors or Toyota. Most of Saleen vehicles are heavily modified versions of mass-produced sports cars such as the Ford Mustang. Between 1983 and 2009 the company has produced more than 8000 cars based on the Mustang. He has also produced modified versions of other Ford models.
A time also produced the Saleen Ford Focus which was also successful sales. The best car is the Saleen Saleen S7, introduced in 2000. The S7 is a high performance mid-engine, the supercar that was initially priced at just under 400,000 U.S. dollars from the U.S.. States. GT won four championships in 2001 and has broken records in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Saleen S7 is the first production car, not on the basis of an existing design.
