San Francisco 49ers Logo — The San Francisco 49ers (commonly known as the niners), are a professional American in football in the National Football League (NFL), based in the city of San Francisco. Their home games play them in Candlestick Park. Currently part of the Western Division of the National Football Conference (NFC).

The 49ers began play in 1946 as founding members of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and joined the NFL in 1950 after the AAFC merged with it.The team was the first franchise of the NFL to win 5 Superbowls. Today is the second in number of titles, behind the Pittsburgh Steelers (6) and tied with the Dallas Cowboys, with 5 each.
