T-Mobile is an operator of mobile network established in Bonn (Germany). It is a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom and belongs to the business alliance FreeMove . The t stands for “Telekom”. T-Mobile also has financial interests in mobile operators in Eastern Europe. It has some 101 million subscribers, making it the sixth largest provider of mobile services by number of subscribers and the third largest multinational in the world after Vodafone in the UK, Telefónica of Spain and America Movil of Mexico. T-Mobile in the U.S. is the fourth largest wireless telecommunications network largest after AT & T , Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel .
T-Mobile has a substantial presence in eleven European countries (Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia and the UK) and in the United States and Mexico. Deutsche Telekom tried in recent years to acquire O2 mobile , rival network operator, but in 2006 was acquired by Telefónica O2 in Spain. In March 2008, the company announced it would acquire Siemens Wireless modules as part of a consortium of JOMA. The deal was concluded in May 2008. T-Mobile is a group of mobile phone corporate subsidiaries (under the ownership of Deutsche Telekom) that run on networks of G / M and UMTS in Europe and U.S.
