Anaheim Ducks Logo — Anaheim Ducks is a professional team of ice hockey in the United States located in Anaheim (California). The club was founded in 1993 by the Walt Disney Company under the name Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, based on the movie The Mighty Ducks. Since 2004 the team belongs to Henry Samueli and his wife Susan, who changed the name of the club in 2006 to present. The team plays in the National Hockey League framed in the Pacific Division.
During the summer of 2004, the strike of NHL players who came to completely paralyze the championship meant that Disney wanted to get rid of the club. The company sold the Ducks by a bid of $ 75 million to the founder of Broadcom, Henry Samueli and his wife Susan. The new owners expressed their desire to keep the franchise in Anaheim and they signed Brian Burke, former director of the Vancouver Canucks, as the new Director General. His new manager would be Randy Carlyle, from a minor league team affiliated with the Canucks. More
