Denver Broncos Logo — The Denver Broncos is a franchising professional football in the National Football League (NFL), based in Denver in the State of Colorado to the United States. Founded in 1959 by Bob Howsam, the franchise became a member in 1960 of the American Football League (AFL), created in rival league to compete with the monopoly of the NFL. It operates within the AFL since its inception until the merger between the two leagues in 1970 and is integrated, like other members of the AFL, in the NFL.
