Formerly manufactured by The Gillette Company, which was founded by King Camp Gillette in 1901 as a manufacturer of accessories for shaving. The brand was based in Boston, Massachusetts. On October 1st of 2005, The Gillette Company was acquired by Procter & Gamble for about 57 billion dollars. As a result of this acquisition, the Gillette Company no longer exists.
