Kansas City Chiefs Logo — The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American in football in the National Football League (NFL), based in the city of Kansas City, Missouri. They play in the AFC West and its colors are red, white and yellow gold. The franchise was founded by Lamar Hunt in 1960 under the name Dallas Texans (based in the city of Dallas, Texas) and originally played in the American Football League, which merged with the NFL in 1970.
In 1963, the franchise moved to Kansas City and the team was renamed to the current name. From 1960 until 1969, the Kansas City Chiefs were one of the most successful teams of the AFL, winning the league championship three times (1963, 1966, 1969). The Chiefs have the record for being the second AFL team after the New York Jets who beat an NFL team in the AFL-NFL World Championship Game when they defeated the Minnesota Vikings in which we know as Super Bowl IV. Despite the success of the Chiefs in the AFL, the victory in Super Bowl IV remains the last championship won by the franchise. More
