On December 20th of 1966, the employer of Los Angeles Sam Shulman, along with Eugene V. Klein and a group of minority shareholders, they got a franchise in the league NBA for the city of Seattle.
They called the team the Jetsons because the contract that the city had managed to manufacture the Boeing 2707 , the first supersonic aircraft manufacturing American (ultimately canceled). It was the first professional franchise city in the state of Washington.
