Rochas was a Parisian fashion house in 1925 in the Rue Faubourg St-Honoré by the lawyer Marcel Rochas created (1906-1955), who as a fashion designer autodidact was. He ran the company until 1955, Rochas his death. His wife Hélène (1927-2011), whom he married in 1944 and his muse was, took over after his death, the leadership of the company, which had been closed temporarily. Hélène Rochas was the first woman in France, the board as managing a large enterprise. She retained that position until 1971 when the French drugmaker Rochas at Roussel-Uclaf (now Sanofi-Aventis) has been sold. More
