The Friday’s restaurant chain was founded in 1965 in the city of New York , with food standard American cuisine and spirits. The restaurant was located at the corner of 63 Street and First Avenue. The exterior had a canopy of white lines and red and blue paint, and interior included wooden floors, Bentwood chairs and striped tablecloths, the bar area had brass rails and stained glass. The employees were young and funny uniforms, and each time a customer’s birthday, everyone in the restaurant came with a sweet and singing the traditional song of Friday’s birthday. In that place there is now a British bar called “Baker Street” bronze railings are still there.

On January 17, 2007, Whitbread sold the operating rights of all 45 restaurants TGI Friday’s UK Limited (a consortium consisting of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide Inc. and ABN Amro Capital), which had formed a union in 1986.
