Ferrero SpA Logo — Ferrero is an Italian food company founded in 1946 in Piedmont ( Italy ). With 60 years of experience, the group Ferrero is the third largest European producer of candy and sixth in the world in the field of sweets and chocolate.
In 1946 Pietro Ferrero invented a cream of hazelnuts and cocoa , and thought he could be spread on bread, and called it “pasta”. The product was very successful and therefore Ferrero created the new company that bears his name.
A similar product, sold under the name Nutella since 1964 , became popular in the world, with many other products, including the chocolates Ferrero Rocher .Its turnover in 2002 was 4,400 million euros . The group annually consumes 70,000 tons of cocoa , 56,000 of hazelnuts (which is the world’s biggest) and 102,000 of milk .
