Hot Wheels Logo — Hot Wheels is the name of a line of models of cars, launched in 1968 by holding toys U.S. Mattel. It was the main competitor of Matchbox until 1996, when Mattel acquired rights of Matchbox models from Tyco.
Launched on the market on 7 September 1968, the Hot Wheels line of models initially included cars and trucks in scale 1:64. Later models were produced even larger, although the line was mainly famous for models of small cars muscle cars and hot rods. Over the years they have been produced about ten thousand different models of cars. Larry Wood, the first director of the Hot Wheels division of Mattel, had previously worked as a designer of General Motors.
In addition to model cars, often authorized by the same car (such as General Motors , the Ford Motor Company, the Chrysler, the Ferrari, the Mazda and Toyota) for the Hot Wheels line of toys were also produced several tracks, various accessories and other types of models, like the sizzlers, electric cars ricarcabili, the trains Hot Line, the motorcycles RR-Rumblers, the airplanes Hot Birds and cars anthropomorphic Farbs.
