New England Patriots Logo — The New England Patriots are a professional team of football based in Foxborough, Massachusetts. They are members of the Eastern Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Originally called Boston Patriots, the team owners changed the name to be relocated to Foxborough in 1971.

After its founding in 1959 as an original member of the American Football League, the Patriots joined the NFL in the creation of the league in 1970. The team reached the playoffs four times before his first appearance in a Super Bowl : missed from 86 and 97. Between 2001 and 2004, the Patriots became the second team in NFL history, after the Dallas Cowboys, to win three Super Bowls in four years (Super Bowl XXXVI, XXXVIII and XXXIX).
