UEFA Euro 2012 Logo — The final round of the 14th UEFA Euro 2012 takes place from 8 June to 1 July 2012 in Poland and Ukraine instead. This has the UEFA Executive Committee on 18 April 2007 announced. It will be the last European Championships, which will be held with 16 teams. From 2016 the tournament will be played with 24 teams. For the European Football Championship 2012, the application period was divided into two phases. Thus, the cost of the UEFA and the candidates will be reduced. After the first phase still remained three candidates. The nomination of the host was held in the second phase.

Originally, ten national football associations had tried with eight applications to host the European Championship finals 2012th Azerbaijan , Greece , Italy , Romania , Russia and Turkey competed individually, Croatia and Hungary , and Poland and the Ukraine each filed joint applications. Application deadline for Euro 2012 was the first February 2004. The detailed application requirements for the first phase were the interested organizations on 8 Sent in February 2005. As at 21 July had the candidates time to submit their application forms. More
