In 2006 the main business area is manufacturing Amstrad receivers Interactive TV Sky .

In July 2007, BSkyB announced the purchase of Amstrad for £ 125m. BSkyB has been the main customer of Amstrad, representing 75% of sales in its sector of Set-Top-Boxes. Amstrad has been a supplier of BSkyB since 1988. On July 2, 2008 Alan Sugar leaves the presidency of the company.
