In 1911, the U.S. government split the assets of Standard Oil convicted for violating the Sherman anti-trust Act of 1890. He categorizes them into 33 companies. The Standard Oil Company of New York or Socony was created for the occasion. In 1920 it registered the trademark “Mobiloil”.
In 1931, the merger of the Socony Vacuum Oil with the Socony-Vacuum creates Co. In 1955, Socony-Vacuum was renamed Socony Mobil Oil Company and Mobil Oil Corporation in 1955, and finally Mobil Corporation in 1976. In 1998, Exxon Mobil and reach an agreement, and merged into ExxonMobil.ExxonMobil Mobil division has three brands, areas of historical activities.
