Safari Logo — Safari is a web browser closed source developed by Apple Inc. It is available for Mac OS X , iPhone OS (the system used by the iPhone , the iPod Touch and iPhone ) and Microsoft Windows . Before the release of Safari, Apple included the browser Internet Explorer for Mac from Microsoft to their computers as the default browser. The first beta version of Safari was presented at the exhibition Macworld on January 7th of 2003 and was released as public beta. His version 1.0 was released in June of 2003 . Version 1.1 was released in October of that year and became the first version of Safari to be the default browser for Mac OS X .
Version 2.0 made its appearance on April 29 of 2005 as part of Mac OS X v10.4 . On 31 October 2005 in an update to Tiger , released 2.0.2 version, making Safari the first browser that passed the test Acid2 . On January 9th of 2007 , Steve Jobs announced that the smartphone from Apple Inc. ( iPhone ) would use Safari for web site navigation. Safari 3 was announced on June 11, 2007 and a public beta was made available to users, this being the first version to run both Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. With the release of Mac OS X v10.5 on 26 October 2007, was named first stable version of Safari 3.
On February 24 of 2009 launched a beta of version 4 of the browser with a redesigned interface, and using their new engine JavaScript Nitro, synthetic tests that exceed the performance of Google Chrome and Firefox 3.5 beta. Finally, on June 8 of that year, and announced at the WWDC Keynote, introduced the final version of Safari 4. In the Windows version eliminated the small interface Aqua browser that made him look like usability running Mac OS X look more like native Windows, it did not like users to change many of them to competition.
In January 2010 , Microsoft is negotiating with Apple to Bing is the default search engine in its Safari browser, version for both Mac OS X to the iPhone in March and the iPod Touch .
