SmackDown Logo — WWE SmackDown! , is a television show professional wrestling produced by the wrestling company WWE issued in the United States by the chain SyFy and ESPN (radio). The wrestlers of Smackdown usually perform four shows a week. The WWE usually record the presentation on Tuesday night to pass by SyFy on Friday of that week. However, once or twice a year the program can be broadcast live. The tracks are “Know Your Enemy” from Green Day and Hangman of Rev Theory.
WWF Smackdown (as was originally known) was created to compete directly with the program Thunder of the WCW, which was broadcast on Thursday night. In the spirit of the era of the WWF Attitude (Attitude Era), originally was hoped that the program consisted of two hours of Divas (female models). However, this did not work, so SmackDown! became a program serving to complement RAW (another TV show of the WWE).
The first appearance of SmackDown! was in May 1999 using the scenographic | to the “Raw Is War” (Raw is War, pun the program name in English was used during the Attitude). However, during the course of 1999, the WWF experienced a significant increase in new fans who tuned into the program Raw is War. In August 1999 SmackDown debuted on UPN. As WCW Thunder, Smackdown was taped on Tuesdays and then broadcast on Thursdays. The program of the WWF came to such a level of popularity that WCW moved Thunder to Wednesdays hoping to retain their fans. Smackdown, like Thunder, wore the blue (while its sister program was characterized Raw by the color red).
The original song SmackDown! , compared to Raw is War, there was a song by a band, instead of this, the WWE created a theme based on the gender mix of techno and rock. The first stage of SmackDown! was unique because it had a giant oval screen, making it different from the traditional rectangular screen in other theaters of wrestling. In August 2001, as part of the celebration of the 2nd Anniversary of SmackDown, the program received a new logo and stage.
