Texas Rangers Logo — The Texas Rangers are a team of Major League Baseball with headquarters in Arlington, Texas, a suburb of Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex, where the franchise was established after leaving Washington DC in 1971. For 11 years he played under the name Washington Senators (not to be confused with the team until 1960 played with the same name in that city: the franchise moved to Minnesota, being renamed the Twins). They are in the Western Division of the American League.
In August 2010, ownership of the franchise, nearly bankrupt, the group changed hands Hicks Sports Group (of sports franchises entrepreneur Tom Hicks) Chuck Greenberg, a Pittsburgh sports attorney, and Nolan Ryan, a former player the Rangers in a deal of ups and downs that took nearly eight months to complete.
On October 22, 2010, they go for the first time a World Series by defeating the Yankees in a series that ended 4-2. Later, they would lose the World Series, 2010 against San Francisco Giants 4-1. In 2011, repeated the American League pennant by beating Detroit Tigers, but again fail in the World Series losing in seven games against St. Louis Cardinals.
