Avaya Inc. is a company private telecommunications specializing in the field of telephony and call centers. It was the official provider of converged communications FIFA Club World Cup 2006. It also provided the communications networks of the 2002 World Cup and the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2003.

Avaya formerly was part of the Company Lucent Technologies, separated on 1 October 2000. It has about 18,000 employees since 2007, 40% of which are outside the U.S.. States.. the global headquarters in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Louis D’Ambrosio is the CEO. Avaya has also been developed in Europe through the acquisition of Tenovis and Asia through a majority stake in Tata Telecom (now Avaya Global Connect).
On 26 October 2007 Avaya was acquired by two private equity firms, TPG Capital and Silver Lake Partners, a value of $ 8.2 billion. a result of this transaction Avaya became a private company, no longer in the stock market. On November 9, 2007, companies completed the acquisition of Avaya shareholders received 17.50 U.S. dollars per share of common stock owned.
