Qantas was founded in Queensland on 16 November of 1920 under the name of Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited , later abandoned his original name and popularized by its acronym. Qantas was nationalized in 1947 by the Labour government of Australia, then headed by Prime Minister Ben Chifley in the Parliament of Australia . The company continued to belong to the state until the 1990’s when it was privatized again, changing its name to Qantas Airways Limited. In 1990 Qantas established Australia Asia Airlines to operate routes to Taiwan , which due to their political, Qantas could not fly there while flying to China.
