Ray-Ban Logo — Ray-Ban is an American company manufacturing manufacturer of sunglasses, founded in 1937 by Bausch & Lomb, first used by the Army Air Corps United States. In 1999 Bausch & Lomb sold the brand to the Italian company Luxottica. The Ray-Ban name means “lightning barrier” (ray banner), which being cut in two short words and striking set an entire paradigm around your brand over the years. He was chosen to be more attractive than Anti-Glare (‘antiglare’).
Ray-Ban is considered the first modern manufacturer of sunglasses and is responsible for creating two of the most imitated sunglasses in the world: Ray-Ban Aviator and Ray-Ban Wayfarer. Aviator style was created in 1936, developed specifically for pilots and was also used by all soldiers, and in 1937 and became available to the public. The Wayfarer was available since 1953 and have become best-selling style of the story. Thanks to the film, sunglasses and accessories became widely popular in Western culture, mainly in the sixties.
The company currently produces a wide variety of models under different types, making it one of the most innovative brands in terms of the effectiveness of their designs, while allowing them to innovate in ways that keep contemporary in front increasingly demanding market. Ray-Ban is the official sponsor of Team Honda Racing in Formula 1 since 2005.
