Safran Logo — Safran is a major industrial and technological French, active internationally in the fields of aeronautics, astronautics, defense and security. It was created in 2005 by the merger of Snecma and Sagem. Since September 2011 it is listed on the CAC 40. Its business is the design and production of aircraft engines, helicopters and rockets, aircraft equipment, defense and security. Safran occupies world leading positions in these markets and employs nearly 60,000 people in more than fifty countries.
Founded in 1925, the Society of General applications of electricity and mechanical (SAGEM) was a French company controlled by its employees, it had a highly diversified, defense via teletype to aircraft equipment such as inertial. In 2004 it has two branches: telecommunications and defense security. The National Society study and construction of aviation engines (SNECMA) was created in 1945 by the nationalization of Gnome and Rhone. It is dedicated to the manufacture of aircraft engines.
