Cagliari Logo — The Cagliari Calcio is a club football in Italy , the city of Cagliari in Sardinia . In 1934 it merged with Club Sportivo Cagliari and born Unione Sportiva Cagliari . Finally the team will be called Cagliari Calcio .

The team achieved their first promotion to Serie A in 1964. In the first half of the season, Cagliari finished last with only 9 pts., But recovered after finishing sixth with 34 pts. In the 1968-69 season, Cagliari fight to the end for the Scudetto with AC Milan and Fiorentina . Finally Fiorentina would keep the title and Luigi Riva was consecrated as a scorer of the tournament. Cagliari ended 2 ° with 41 pts. and rated the Fairs Cup . In that same season, Cagliari reached the final of the Coppa Italia , which lost at the hands of AS Roma .
